Born in the North but now living in the South and having worked all over the UK, as well as throughout the world, Alison is globally recognised as one of the most experienced, qualified professionals in the industry.

Most known for her roles on screen as a household beauty name she loves to share her advice across TV, radio and press as well as interact directly with her followers on social media. While behind the scenes she continues to develop her consultancy business reporting at board level and working from start ups to some of the biggest beauty brands in the world.

Her encyclopaedic knowledge is based on qualified experience that comes from a career spanning all different roles from within the beauty industry, as one of the first celebrity facialists treating Royalty and a-listers, to product development and training roles for some of the biggest beauty brands in the world.

Alison has worked with hundreds of brands, has tested thousands of products, treated tens of thousands of clients, advised hundreds of thousands of customers both one to one and through her broadcasts and millions of people have followed her beauty expertise across TV, radio and social media.

Today Alison splits her time between capital and country with a typical day involving riding her horses and walking her beloved dogs, consulting for global beauty brands and testing the latest products and techniques and judging them against heritage formulas. Then later in the day Alison will apply a high fashion gloss look to share her knowledge across TV and social media to help problem solve beauty concerns and give people routines and results they can achieve in their own home.

Alison’s Beauty Philosophy

Strongly against the need for surgery and injectables, unless advised by a doctor or GP, Alison is most definitely pro the great result that people can get in their own home and with beauty treatments and techniques, and revels in sharing these findings.

Her beauty knowledge is based on tried and trusted ingredients and techniques and she is famously able to customise regimes for all people and all budgets. This means that she can give advice on a high maintenance, high price, high result beauty regime but is just as happy to give advice on a few key products in a lower price point for a simple, but much cherished regime that is dependable and affordable.

Following this she then started her successful consultancy business where she reported at board level to such brands as Lancome and L’oreal where she trained the trainers, The International Training Corporation, designing and conducting training courses and being involved in consulting with the start ups and training schools of ESPA, Aveda and L’Occitaine amongst others.

All this experience gave her a standing in the industry which has allowed her to continue her honesty behind the scenes in that she only works with companies she believes in. This philosophy soon had brands asking her to represent them through media which then developed a role as being an independent qualified beauty expert.

“My business has continued to increase over the years, without advertising, I put this down to my honesty and integrity – this may have lost me quite a few jobs in the past but I believe in the long run has resulted in fantastic working relationships with top brands and my peers in the industry.”

Today social media has become invaluable for Alison in sharing her knowledge and philosophy further through regular Q&A’s, allowing her access to customers and followers concerns and in return giving them much trusted advice.

Alison’s Work

An inspirational speaker for the beauty industry Alison has hosted customer, PR and trade events, both small and large, proving that she is just as comfortable in front of thousands as she is in intimate groups of customers who want to ask questions.

Over the years she’s been featured in many TV and radio programmes as well as press and magazines, most famously with her own shows on QVC where she has really enjoyed sharing her stories and inside information on brands and who they are suitable for.

Whether working for a global brand name in management consultancy, a small start up company with launch and training plans, or a one to one with the customer, everyone is important to her. She very much considers that a beauty regime and a product choice is individual and strongly believes that no product is great for everyone but that everyone can find their perfect product.

TV Work

Alison has appeared on many TV shows throughout her career and has her own YouTube channel where she shares her knowledge to help her clients, followers and consumers understand their beauty concerns and subsequent results that they can achieve with a combination of products and techniques.

Alison is best known for the beauty shows she presents on QVC and is very proud of the association she has with the company that launched the sector of shopping channels in the U.K.

Her role was initially as consultant to the CEO, coming up with the concept of giving a voice and platform to top salon and retail sector cosmetic companies. This involved preparing a list of brands from her contacts in the industry and meeting with them, choosing products to supply QVC and then going onto demonstrating their excellence with on screen presentations.

“QVC continues to be very important as it gives me the opportunity to share the stories of beauty brands and de-mystify the beauty world. Alongside my other work in the industry this helps me connect with the customer and share my qualified advice to help them purchase the perfect product.”

This quickly grew into becoming the on air guest for, and offering consultancy to, many of the beauty brands. She used her now expansive knowledge to choose the product demonstration and language that would best showcase their products, through Q&A’s and behind the scenes footage from labs, to truly bring a brand to life.

This has enabled Alison to further her unrivalled beauty knowledge with access to thousands of products and hundreds of beauty brands, often being first to market in the UK; L’Occitaine, Liz Earle, Tarte, Aveda, Laura Geller and It Cosmetics being just a few examples.


Alison was also brought in by both the European and US arms of QVC for on air presentations and to share her successful strategies through the training of presenters and key staff. 24 years, and now with an audience of millions, QVC is unrivalled in it’s genre of channels and has never been more successful, continuing as the UK’s number one.
