About Alison

Born in the North of England and now living in the South, Alison is an award-winning health and beauty expert and one of the most experienced and qualified professionals in the beauty industry.

A mainstay on British Television as the face of QVC Beauty, Alison is a voice of authority that both industry experts and followers trust.

Alison has been lucky enough to work with some of the best beauty brands in the world, starting as a celebrity facialist at Harrods Salon, then Grayshott Hall Medical Spa before becoming the youngest head of training at Clarins.  This led her to start a consultancy business, reporting at board level to Lancome and L’Oréal and working with The International Training Corporation, designing and conducting training courses. Her business grew to include consulting with the start-ups and training schools of ESPA, Aveda and L’Occitaine.

Alison continues to run a successful beauty brand consultancy business which includes a range of television shopping services, and is a successful influencer, working with brands to promote products via her social media platforms.

Alison has worked with hundreds of brands, has tested thousands of products, treated tens of thousands of clients, advised hundreds of thousands of consumers both one to one and through her broadcasts and millions of people have followed her beauty expertise across TV, radio and social media.

Today Alison splits her time between capital and country with a typical day involving riding her horses and walking her beloved dogs, creating content for brand partnerships, consulting for global beauty brands and testing the latest products and techniques and judging them against heritage formulas. Then later in the day Alison will apply a high fashion gloss look to share her knowledge across live TV for QVC Beauty and her social media platforms to promote beauty brands she loves, problem solve beauty concerns and sharing routines and results her audience can achieve in their own homes.

Alison’s Beauty Philosophy

Alison’s beauty knowledge is based on tried and trusted products and techniques and she is famously able to customise regimes for all people and all budgets. This means that she can give advice on a high maintenance, high price, high result beauty regime but is just as happy to give advice on a few key products in a lower price point for a simple, but much cherished regime that is dependable and affordable.

Firmly against the need for surgery and injectables, unless advised by a doctor or GP, Alison promotes the authentic results that her audience can achieve in their own homes using the beauty products, treatments and techniques she recommends through her research and testing, and revels in sharing these findings.

Alison loves to share her knowledge and teach techniques which often don’t require buying additional product and how and when to use what consumers already have at home to greater effect in their own regime.

Today social media has become invaluable for Alison in sharing her knowledge and philosophy further through regular Q&As and recommendations, allowing her direct access to audience concerns and giving them much trusted advice.

Television Work

Alison is best known for her live television beauty shows as the lead beauty presenter on QVC UK and has a long standing association with the company that launched the shopping channel sector into the UK market.

Her role was initially as consultant to the CEO, coming up with the concept of giving a voice and platform to top salon and retail sector cosmetic companies. This involved preparing a list of brands from her contacts in the industry and meeting with them, choosing products to supply QVC and then going onto demonstrating their excellence with on screen presentations.

The role quickly grew into becoming the on air guest for – and offering consultancy to – many of the beauty brands. She used her now expansive knowledge to choose the product demonstration and language that would best showcase their products, through Q&As and behind the scenes footage from labs, to truly bring a brand to life.

Alison’s proven sales strategy and presenting style enabled her to further her unrivalled beauty knowledge with access to thousands of products and hundreds of beauty brands, often being first to market in the UK launching brands such as  L’Occitaine, Liz Earle, Tarte, Aveda, Laura Geller and It Cosmetics.

Both the European and US arms of QVC then brought Alison in for on air presentations and to share her successful strategies through the training of presenters and key staff.  With an audience of millions, QVC is unrivalled in it’s genre of channels and has never been more successful, continuing as the UK’s number one shopping channel.

Now with her own YouTube channel , Alison shares her knowledge to help clients, followers and consumers understand their beauty concerns and subsequent results that they can achieve with a targeted combination of products and techniques.
