On the blog this week I talk all things menopause, skincare and new product launches! It’s a good one! But first let’s start with understanding a bit more about AHA’s and how they (or if they should) fit in to your skincare regime .
A guide to using acids in your skincare routine
One question I get asked a lot is based around using more than one acid in your routine. The answer can be complicated, but I hope my FAQ video below will help demystify the use of acids in your skincare routine.
The right use of acids could increase effectiveness and yield great results in your existing skincare routine. My top tip: if you have resistant skin, add one product into your skincare routine at a time and always patch test first!
Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is one of the most popular ingredients in skin care. Combining this with acids is a great way to replenish the skin.
A mask I’ll be getting again, without a doubt, is the Murad Age Reform Hydro-Glow Peel Mask. I was recently on a shoot and I applied the mask the night before the shoot and then set the snooze button for the morning where I reused the rest of the mask that I folded back into the packet. Each sachet has 25ml of hyaluronic acid in it which is equivalent to a full size serum for many brands. It’s a great way to get moisture in to your wrinkles in one go for some serious plumping and an absolute game changer for long haul flights!

Mirror Mirror on the wall
I have been very impressed with this mirror by simplehuman. It’s a little on the pricey side but it’s beautiful and helps you achieve an airbrushed blend, even in difficult lighting conditions (both day and night). It even helps improve your application technique! Incidentally I didn’t realise until now that the beautiful rose gold dual bin I bought from John Lewis is the same brand! The rose gold bin is the icing on the cake in my kitchen. It’s the first bin I’ve ever owned that is beautiful and I’m proud of it! It looks fab and with it being a dual bin (one side for recycling), I no longer pile up my recycling on my kitchen top each day, it’s helped me declutter too!

Exciting new skincare launch for menopause from Korres!
Today is the launch of the Korres TSV . This collection cleverly combines olive oil, botanicals and treatment ingredients to wash and soften the skin. It also treats the look of body ageing and wrinkles with a co-ordinating body butter which comes in 5 options, so there really is one to suit everyone.

It is also the launch of their new patented Meno-Reverse™ line! This is a very special breakthrough if you are suffering the effects of the menopause on the look of your skin and are looking for new improvements because normal anti-ageing products, which are not specific enough to menopausal ageing, are not enough for you. Take a listen to what I have to say about the products over on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I’ve been testing the products for over a month now and I’ve had great results!
If you are looking for a safe space to talk about the good, the weird and the ugly that comes with menopause – there is a dedicated group on Facebook called Ladies Who Menopause that you can join.
