A week of ups and downs
As an animal lover it is important to care for them in sickness and in health. I said goodbye to Lottie, one of my horses of a lifetime, this week aged 29. Lottie gave me the greatest joy and we went jumping all over the country! Not only did we beat the Whittaker’s in a jump off, we qualified and jumped at Hickstead and many of the main arenas around the UK. She gave me two beautiful foals and I was lucky to own her from 7 years old. Lottie went peacefully with the vet and I at her side. I am a better horsewoman and person for having this beautiful and talented mare in my life for so long, she will be irreplaceable and I’m grateful she chose me as her owner.

Beauty Routines and Product Testing
On a brighter note. I test so many of the beauty products in the country on the farm in all weathers and in quick routines, that can work for you at home all over the UK and Ireland. My philosophy is that a routine or product has to perform for your lifestyle, budget, time and give you the result that you want. Check out some of my new recently added FAQ videos here.
Elemis 4 Piece Collection
Elemis has a great launch offer this week! These 4 products give a luxurious but easy 3 step morning and evening routine that takes only seconds and has anti-aging, balancing and hydrating benefits! The new Pro-Collagen Rose Face Oil is fab under the award-winning day and night cream. You can also use a few drops on clean skin when you’re in the bath or shower as a steam facial treatment. Don’t forget to apply to the neck and décolleté.

It’s perfect for this transitional season when tans are fading, and skin can be a little unpredictable plus the eye treatment is a great pro-routine for salon results at home. You can buy the collection worth over £200 early at the greatly reduced launch price here. I will be launching these on QVC at 9pm and 12pm on Saturday going into Sunday. I will also be sharing further ways of using them so I hope you can watch the show. Next week I’ll be hosting the BABTAC awards for a few days. Follow me on Instagram where I will be posting lots of stories from the awards!
Beauty Hack
As you may know I have eczema and a great beauty hack for sensitive skin is Aloe Vera. I keep these in the kitchen and chop off and squeeze the juice out and apply directly to my skin, face and body for its famous cooling and calming benefits. Always make sure you test patch first. Incidentally Aloe Vera is also a great oxygenator and I recently was told by a botanist they may help lessen snoring!? Maybe I should move them into the bedroom!

Dates for your Diary
My final beauty insider is Wednesday before the Christmas season so be sure to watch if you can. Live at 8pm on QVC followed by my live Q&A at 9.05 pm over on my Instagram and Facebook pages. I hope to be back with this show in January. Make sure you check the FAQ section on my website alisonyoungbeauty.com if I didn’t manage to answer your question.

Don’t forget to get the October issue of Woman and Home issue for the latest on my judging at the beauty awards. More news on the presentation party next week!

I am so very sorry Alison,my thoughts are with you.
I am sorry to hear about Lottie. It is sad to lose such a dear friend, with whom you shared so many wonderful experiences.
The loss of Lottie will leave a massive hole in your heart Alison – animals touch
our lives in so many ways and give us so much. You cannot put into words
just how much it hurts, but having lost many animals myself I understand how
you must be feeling. Please accept my sympathy. You may have said goodbye
to your beautiful Lottie but you will never say goodbye to the many memories
you have of her and how much your life was enriched by having her in it. x
Alison I’m so sorry about your lovely horse…… Gxx
Alison-I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Lottie. This must be incredibly painful for you and you shared so many years together. Our animals become family and a huge part of our lives. I am thinking of you.xx
Ali, my heart breaks for you having to say goodbye to your special friend, but she loved you and you loved her, what else is there to say. I have ordered the elemis package and can’t wait, stay strong and don’t weep, the field is now full of lush grass and she is galloping free
So sorry to hear about your loss. At least you have some beautiful memories to cherish. In my family we send all our 4 legged friends to our paternal grandmother to look after & play with. It sounds silly but is actually quite comforting to think they’re with someone we also loved & miss. I bet the dogs are especially aware of the need for more cuddles…
Hi Alison, So sad about the loss of Lottie but she’ll always be in your heart. I’ll be buying Woman and Home this lunchtime. Best wishes xx
