Home is where the heart is…

Putting my best foot forward

The early summer mornings and light evenings have certainly allowed me to enjoy the animals more. I’m not trying to squeeze in walking the dogs and riding the horses all at the same time. However, it can also make me a bit more of a workaholic as I think if it’s light I can do something. Sometimes it’s good to stop and do nothing. Recharge or enjoy a home cooked meal, especially with so much fresh produce and brambles in the hedges (which I love picking and eating while I’m walking the dogs).

Speaking of walking the dogs, I wanted to give you a quick update on Zelda. She has been getting on well; although my knees have been complaining on our hour long fast marching walks! She has managed to avoid hip surgery and is doing rehab (which she loves). The rehab includes 2 hydrotherapy appointments per week. Just another thing to squeeze in to my week, but I am very happy to do it. Having said that it’s definitely something you should consider if you are thinking about getting a pet. Animals always take more time and attention when they are ill.

Home Treatments

Exfoliation can be done on many different levels depending on your skin type and condition. Make sure to check out my free tutorials by clicking here to learn more about your skin type. For normal / dry / dull skin I love an increased exfoliation, working deeper on wrinkles and dullness. Here is one I’ve loved for years. If my skin is looking tired or I have a tough week planned, the Philosophy Microdelivery Resurfacing Peel Kit is a fab and thorough treatment. You won’t be the only one noticing the results, other people will notice too!

I was pleased to find a pocket sized SPF50 balm which is great for lips, face and vulnerable areas, when I was researching for the Daily Mail, from one of the longest standing brands in the industry Elizabeth Arden. Whether you are on the beach this summer, the slopes in the winter or just doing your daily dog walk, this Elizabeth Arden Targeted Sun Defense Stick will be a fab addition to your skincare!
